Purpose:  Prepare Members for our visit to Boston Society of Arts and Crafts.
Objectives:

  • Provide historical background on Boston Society of Arts and Crafts (BSAC) and the American Craftsman Movement.
  • Explore the mission of BSAC.
  • Generate questions to ask on our tour.


Materials needed:

  • Worksheets
  • Pens, pencils, markers etc.
  • iPad, computer or smart board


Activity Steps:

  1. Watch Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston
  2. Discuss crafts that Members may have done or encountered.
  3. Read and discuss worksheets at table.
  4. As a group, brainstorm and record a list of questions to ask on our tour.
